"On Walking, Running, and Flying"

Wait just a minute!  It sounds so simple.  Yet, for many of us waiting is an agonizing process that is both frustrating and irritating.  To sit around doing nothing seems like such a waste of precious time.

While few of us actually enjoy the fine art of waiting, it seems to be a permanent part of living.  So, in place of railing against it, what we need to do is refocus our attention and readjust are attitudes when waiting becomes a necessity.

In Isaiah 40:31 we read that those who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, the shall walk and not faint.  In other words, waiting can be a gift from God!  It is during these moments of inactivity that we can turn to the scriptures, or pause in prayer, and be spiritually recharged.  Waiting forces us to stop so God has an opportunity to provide us, and fill us, with all that we need for the journey ahead.  Then we, too, will be able to run and not be weary, walk and not faint!
