A Word From the Pastor

I just want to say a big “thank you” to all of you at Lowman United Methodist Church. If have been re-appointed to Lowman for a third year. It seems like these first two years have really flown by. I am continuing to enjoy my work and my relationships with you.
The appointment was fixed at the Annual Conference session last week in Baldwin. I though it was a very good Conference. We elected a diverse and well qualified delegation to represent us at General Conference next spring, and at Jurisdictional Conference next summer. They will be instrumental in bringing a new Bishop to the Kansas Area after Bishop Mutti retires at the end of next summer.
I want you all to know that Lowman UMC was well represented. Jackie Howard, your Lay Delegate, was present for all the sessions (something even your pastor was unable to do). Nancy Kollhoff, our Associate Pastor, was very busy helping the Worship Planning team and running the power point for all the conference worship services.
Danielle Mills again served with the CCYM youth delegation. She was active as a teller (collecting and counting ballots), as a participant in two of the worship services, and giving leadership within the youth delegation. Janet Schalansky was present one afternoon to be a Presenter at a workshop on “Children and Poverty in Kansas.”
Betty Nelson attended as a member of the Board of Ministry and also to support the Poland Initiative. New Lowman member Sherrie Antholz was present Friday evening to witness the commissioning of her son, Rev. Dustin Petz. Finally, the Carey’s and the Hine’s were present for Retired Clergy events and other conference activities.
Thank you to all who attended and gave leadership! And thank you to all of Lowman UMC for your support and your prayers for our shared ministry together.
