Choirs, Live BIG Start Up Again on August 25
Chime Choir, Bell Choir, and Chancel Choir will all resume rehearsals on Wednesday, August 25th. Chime Choir will meet from 6:00-6:25, Bell Choir from 6:30-7:20, and Chancel Choir from 7:30 to 8:30. Parents interested in having their children participate in Chime Choir should read the separate article which follows later in this newsletter.
Anyone interested in joining Bell or Chancel Choirs is welcome to come to our first rehearsal. If you'd feel more comfortable visiting with Jeannie beforehand, give her a call at 232-3731 or talk to her some Sunday at church. We welcome everyone and have spots in both adult choirs for new members. A word of warning: we don't just WORK at making beautiful music, we have FUN at our rehearsals! Come join us!
Live BIG for kindergarteners through junior high will also begin on August 25 at 6:30.
Children's Chime Choir Information
On August 25th we will begin the third year for our Chime Choir. During the first two years, we've enjoyed having a wide range of ages participate and feel like progress has been made in learning to read and play music. This is perhaps a good time to review some basic guidelines for returning members and for those parents whose children are interested in joining:
Children in grades 2-8 may join the Chime Choir. No exceptions will be made.
Weekly attendance is extremely important to provide continuity in our learning.
Every attempt will be made to have the Chime Choir perform during the worship service twice during the year.
Since music has to be prepared for each child in the Chime Choir, it is important for Jeannie to know exactly who will be returning and who is interested in beginning on August 25th at 6:00 p.m. Give her a call at 232-3731, email her at jegish@cox.net, or talk to her at church on Sunday. We hope to keep this group a strong part of our music program!
